In early March, 2014 – we are publishing our new book: “The Tribes of Ireland:1150AD – Ireland at the Birth of Your Surname”
It will only be available to readers of our weekly “Letter from Ireland” – but you can subscribe to the letter for free here .
Purchase of this book will also give readers access to a wonderful new forum where you can share and seek help around the search for further Irish names in your family tree.
I’m looking forward to seeing you there! Mike.

Awesome cover Mike! Can’t wait to get mine!
Thanks Virginia – appreciate the feedback. Mike.
This book should great. Still trying to figure out just exactly where my ancestor’s lived. It was supposed to be County Cork, but a relative flew over, and said the church records were either burned or destroyed – – sad!
Nice site you have!
(my last name was Donovan!!)
It is true about the records – but hard enough to get a Donovan outside Cork (except maybe in Limerick) – originally anyway. Mike.
Connie, I am researching my Donovans too. My gr-grandmother was Bridget Donovan (parents were Patrick Donovan and Mary Sullivan). It would be great if we were related! I’m stuck on Bridget’s details!
Love the cover…..

I can’t wait for this book to come out. Beautiful cover. It reminds me of the story my grandpa told me when I was little, of the unicorn that lived in the hills something about McGillacuddy (that was the hill I think).
Great Lori – thanks for the vote of confidence. McGillicuddy Reeks are just down the road from where this photo is take in County Kerry – this is in their foothills! Mike.
The cover is awesome!
Thanks Karen ๐
