Doolough Valley, County Mayo

County Mayo is a place of striking natural beauty. As we travelled along the road through the remote Doolough Valley we were surrounded with breathtaking views and rugged landscape. However we were also aware of the tragedy that unfolded here at the height of the Great Famine.
