You might have noticed these memorials at the side of the road. They are known locally as “Leachtaí Cuimhneacháin” and were erected during the 1800s by and for particular families including the Conneelys, McDonaghs, O’Donnells, Fitzpatricks, Mullins’s, Naughtons and the Folens.
