Cรฉad mรญle fรกilte, welcome to your Letter from Ireland “Shorts”.  Each Tuesday we’ll bring you a quick-read of some of our favourite and interesting Irish things for this week.

FAVOURITE PLACES IN IRELAND
Slieve League Cliffs, County Donegal. (See it on a map here.)

The Slieve League Cliffs in County Donegal are among Europe’s highest sea cliffs, rising dramatically 1,972 feet (601 meters) above the Atlantic Ocean. Less crowded than the Cliffs of Moher but nearly three times higher, these majestic cliffs offer breathtaking coastal walks with views of Donegal Bay, the Sligo Mountains, and sometimes even County Mayo. Plus, it’s right along the Wild Atlantic Way! Check out this video to see what it’s like to climb these sea cliffs

FEATURED IRISH SURNAMES – Irish Name Translator

Have you ever wondered what your name would be in Irish? We’ve created this Irish Name Translator so you can find a direct translation (or at the very least, the closest thing to it) of your own name.ย Try our name translator here!ย

BOOK I’M READING NOW
“The Art of Falling” by Danielle McLaughlin

IRISH CRAFT/PRODUCT WE LOVE

Right next to the historic Muckross House in Killarney, County Kerry, Margaret Phelan crafts beautiful hand-thrown stoneware pottery. Each piece is unique and is made with the utmost care and skill to ensure its quality. Their Honey and Blue pottery range are some of our favorite pieces – delightful and practical! Check out their shop here
