In this episode of the Letter from Ireland Show we head to County Limerick and a townland by the name of “Patrick’s Well”. This place has been named after the Holy Well within it’s borders – and we chat to the lady whose family has looked after this unique place for generations sharing stories, traditions and a cure or two!

    I loved this podcast about the holy wells. To hear the sounds of the wells as Michael and Carina visited and talked with caretakers of the wells was awesome. I really could envision myself there. In the US we have many places where Catholics go that are holy like the wells. There is one where we lived near in New Mexico, called the Santuario (Sanctuary) de Chimayo. It is a Church built by Spanish settlers and in the back is a small room with Holy dirt. People pilgrimage there for there ailments. I love the parallels because of our Catholic faith.
